The primary goal to present this is to fulfill the current needs of first year students of bachelor degree in engineering (All branches) studying in Engineering College a affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) and Various other Universities. The book consists of 8 chapters (divided into five units in addition to one unit of basic introduction) providing a full coverage of the course as prescribed by RTU for the subject of "Electrical and Electronics Engineering". A sufficient number of example worked out, crystal clear theory, question on the pattern of various universities for similar syllabus have been included in this text book. Solved example are given in almost all topic and subtopics which makes the entire presentation easy to understand. Short answer type question with explanation at the end of each chapter will help the students in preparing for the via-voice of practical examinations and for interviews. Great care has been taken to eliminate misprints, omissions and errors but it is too much to expect that no inaccuracy, misprinting, error have crept in and the authors would be grateful to the readers for bringing same to their notice which may come across while going through the book. The authors shall feel satisfied if the book meets the needs of the students for whom it is written. Suggestions and criticism for the improvement of the book shall be welcomed. Rajeev Gupta a graduate in electrical Engineering from Engineering College. Kota has a vate experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines of engineering. Presently he is working as a Professor in Electronics Department, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. Naveen Jain received the B.E. (Electrical Engineering) and M.E. (Power System) from Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur in 1997 and 1999 respectively. Presently he is serving as an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering Department, CTAE, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. His research interest includes distributed generation in deregulation regine. He is also a fellow of I.E. (India) K.G. Paneri is graduate in Electrical Engineering from engineering college, Kota, has a long experience of teaching. Presently working as a visiting faculty in Electrical Engineering Department, CTAE, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (Raj.)
