This book presents the basics of pericyclic reactions with its historical development. The nature and analysis of pericyclic reactions provide the desired background in this field. Different reactions in the categories of electrocyclic reactions, cycloaddition reactions, sigmatropic reactions have been discussed in detail. In these chapters, fundamentals of the reactions as well as some selective examples have been explained diagramatically for better understanding of readers. Prof. Suresh C. Ameta is working as Professor of Chemistry and Dean, Post-Graduate Studies in Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Raj.) India. He has thirty eight years experience of teaching and research. He has successfully guided 50 Ph.D. students and published more than 200 research papers in journals of nation and international repute. He has received number of sward in his career and several on the coveted position of president, Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata (2000 - 2001) Dr. B.K. Sharma is Lecturer in Chemistry, Govt. P.G. College Banswara. He has secured first Position in M.Sc. with specialisation in Organic Chemistry and was awarded Gold Medal by M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur. He has teaching experience of about fifteen years. His research interest are in Photocatalysis, Microwave Synthesis etc. He has 14 published papers to his credit. Dr. Jitendra Vardia has secured First Posistionin M.Sc. with specialisation in Physical Chemistry and was awarded Gold Medal by M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur. He has teaching experience of about ten years in different institutions. Presently he is working as Team Leader in PI Ltd., Udaipur. His research interests are in Photochemistry and Green Chemistry. He has 30 published papers to his credit. Dr. Ritu Vyas has secured Ist division in M.Sc. with specialization in Organic Chemistry from M.L. Sukgadia University, Udaipur. Her research interest is in More synthesis of some heterocyclic compounds.
